The KCS library collection far exceeds accreditation guidelines with over 6,000 volumes. An extensive picture book collection includes Mandy Caldecott medal winners, old favorites and new selections. Our fiction collection includes Newbury medal winners, classics and Christian fiction titles. Our non-fiction collection provides classroom curriculum enhancement in addition to subject areas of interest to our students. We also have a bibliography collection and a Florida collection. The library houses 400+ videos and a collection of "Big Books" for classroom use. The KCS library has an on-staff professional librarian.
The goals of the KCS library are:
- To introduce each student to the best of children's literature
- To provide support for classroom curriculum
- To provide an adequate selection of books for classroom book reports
- To provide students with an authentic library experience
