The main objective in the KCS art program is to show God's beauty in creation and to help the children develop their individual talents. We do this by observing what is around us and expressing it on paper. This helps in hand-eye co-ordination, use of space and & the recognition of their talents and abilities. Listening skills are also developed as the students follow directions.

The pre-school program taught at KCS incorporates fine and gross motor skills. The elementary school program incorporates all facets of an educational, but entertaining program.  Starting from as early as three years old, students can look forward to:

    ·         Songs

    ·         Finger Plays

    ·         Rhythm

    ·         Recorded Movement Stories

    ·         Sounds of Nature

    ·         Call and Respond

    ·         Keyboards

    ·         Drums

    ·         Jingles

    ·         Poems

    ·         Sensory Games

These activities create awareness of the body, sounds and songs.  By starting at such a tender age, children develop specialized brain cells that must be exercised to maintain activity levels.

    Physical Education                                                                            Top

Our physical education program is extensive, and in depth and involves all age groups and abilities. At the preschool level, games that incorporate and develop motor and coordination skills are a large part of the curriculum.  A supervised playground in our lush landscaped setting is a treat for the preschoolers as well.

For the elementary students, competitive sports are part of the regular physical education program.  We at KCS believe that the body is truly the temple, and as such, spiritual emphasis is augmented with regular physical activity.

The after school programs at KCS are a must for the athlete or athlete to be. Our experienced after school coaches can help nurture your child's talent in a number of disciplines. Sports are seasonal, so call for details. Activities offered after school are:

    ·         Soccer

    ·         Basketball

    ·         Volleyball

    ·         Football

    Spanish                                                                                            Top

The goal of Kendall Christian School’s Spanish language program is to expose students to a language and culture in order to make them knowledgeable and active members of a global society. Our Spanish program introduces students to the pronunciation and inflection patterns, the basic grammatical structures and vocabulary of the Spanish language while developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Language in a home is acquired by the child by first listening, then mimicking, speaking and eventually reading and writing. In our school setting, the development of receptive skills (listening, mimicking and simple reading) precedes language practice (conversing and writing).

Through our Spanish language study, students develop an understanding of the cultural and linguistic tradition of the Hispanic culture and are prepared to participate in a world that continues to become more diverse.
