The ESD program at KCS offers early-morning and after school activities* in a supervised environment.

Program Hours:

Morning ESD Preschool Kindergarten Grades 1 through 5

7:00 – 8:05 12:15 – 6:00 2:30 – 6:00 2:45 – 6:00

Daily Sign-Up:

There is a sign-up sheet on a clipboard outside of your child’s classroom.  Each day that you plan for your child to attend ESD, please sign this sheet.

If you use Before School Supervision and do not come to your child’s classroom, he/she can tell the classroom teacher during attendance that he/she will be staying after school that day.

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT

Morning ESD

Includes: Study hall, videos, indoor and outdoor games (for older children); all ages must be brought to the ESD program in room # 13 for check-in.  The ESD teacher will bring the children to their classroom at 8:05 AM.

Before School Supervision

1st through 5th grade students may arrive on campus at or after 7:45 AM and report to the covered lunch area where they will remain under supervision until 8:05 AM and then dismissed to class.  There is no additional fee for this service.

After school

Preschool and kindergarten children are signed into ESD at dismissal and must be signed out at the ESD office in Room #13 or designated area prior to being released from the program.

1st through 3rd grade children are signed into ESD at dismissal and must be signed out at the ESD office in Room #10 or designated area prior to being released from the program.

4th through 5th grade children may wait for you at the pick-up area until 3:00 PM.  At this time, they will be directed to the ESD program and first-hour charges will apply.  Please do not ask your child to remain at the pick up location past this time.

ALL Children:

Once you have signed your child out of ESD, he/she is expected to remain with you and not continue to participate in ESD activities.  You are welcome to visit with other parents during this time, but we do request that you leave the area (classroom or playground.)

For proper dismissal in ESD other than a parent, we need approved names in the carpool sheet or a written permission for someone other than a parent/guardian to pick up your child from ESD.  Additionally, the person must have a valid Florida driver’s license.

Failing to sign your child out of ESD:

Every effort is made to provide a safe environment for KCS students.  While ESD checkout procedures are designed to ensure your child’s well being, his whereabouts are of equal importance.  Please help us by remembering to sign your child out each day.  If a parent should forget or neglect to sign out, a $5.00 fee will be added to your ESD charges for that day.

After-School Activities

Students involved in after-school activities, such as sports, will go directly to the covered lunch area upon dismissal from class until their activity begins.  After the activity, students will be signed into ESD until picked up from school.

Please note:

If you are interested in ESD occasionally or on a regular basis please come to the school office for information on ESD fees and complete an ESD form.

Please remember fees need to be paid in full at the KCS office with your tuition on the first day of each month.  A late fee of $25.00 will be added to your ESD balance if ESD charges are not paid by the 10th of the following month.

ESD voucher

A voucher is available to children who attend KCS when the parents are on school business during ESD hours.  It is the parents’ responsibility to request the voucher.  Give the form to the ESD person when you sign your child out.  Otherwise you will be charged accordingly.

EXTENDED SCHOOL DAY PACKAGES

Parents purchasing a package rate will be billed beginning the first month of school (with tuition) and monthly thereafter.  Parents using ESD on the “occasional” rate will be billed at the end of each month, based on hours accumulated.  Parents wishing to change the package rate need to give a 30-day notice.

All Extended School Day fees MUST be paid with your tuition as billed.  If ESD charges are not paid with the tuition by the 10th of the following month, a $25.00 late fee will be added to your ESD balance.  You must sign up to use ESD for occasional use or package use.

A FEE OF $15.00 WILL BE CHARGED FOR ALL CHECKS RETURNED FROM YOUR BANK.  KCS reserves the right to revoke a family’s privilege to present checks as payment for tuition and fees.  Families will be allowed one bounced check.  If the check is $500, The Financial Secretary will contact the family to replace it with another check.  If you have presented a second “bad” check you will be asked to replace the check with cash or money order within 48 hours of notification by the Financial Secretary.  Otherwise, KCS will submit the bounced check to the Office of the State Attorney, Bad Check Restitution Program for collection.
