Back to School Night - September 12, 2002
The Back to School Night on September 12th was a lot of fun for all. Parents had a chance to meet Brad Bradford, Senior Pastor for KPC and Kent Keller, Director of Family Ministries and Christian Education. They also met our enrichment teachers and saw them in their environment as they visited the music, art and computer room. But the highlight of the evening came when the parents met their children’s teachers and learned about the exciting things they will be learning next year.
We have a winner!
Oh, and by the way, Michelle Sarhan-Parks, mother of Emily in Kindergarten and Evan in 6th grade, won the Grilling Package. The Biltmore Hotel Golfing Package was won by Jose Gonzalez, father of Johnny in 3rd grade and Alexandra in 5th. Congratulations to you both! Home Depot donated the grill and Coral Gables Park & Recreations Dept donated the golf package. Over $400 was raised by this event. Thank you PTF!
Academic Enrichment Program
The Academic Enrichment Program began this week under the tutelage of Mrs. Janet Powell, 2nd grade teacher and Director of the KCS Enrichment Program. The program is available to 2nd –6th graders who have excelled in academics in the previous quarter and have been recommended by their teachers to participate in the program. This year there will be a special emphasis in honing math and spelling skills in preparation for the Christian Schools of Florida Math and Spelling competitions and the Miami Herald Spelling Bee. Congratulations to all participants for their academic achievements that have allowed them to join this prestigious program.
