FELLOWSHIP

On behalf of the KCS Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) organization, it is our pleasure to welcome you to our school family!

PTF has been an important part of our school for over 25 years, fostering the goals of:

  • Fellowship between families and faculty

  • Raising funds for school programs and improvements

  • Supporting teachers, staff, parents

  • and—most importantly—students

  • Serving the needs of our community

YOU are an important part of our community!

We have been blessed with a creative and forward-thinking administration who allow us to enthusiastically raise funds for the best programs, resources and events to maximize the education and overall experience of every child in our school. We would love for you to participate however best serves your interests and talents; here are a few programs that we sponsor and/or support: Generation Day, Scholastic Book Fairs, Fun Run, Gingerbread Shoppe, Gala, Harvest Festival / Spring Carnival, Staff and Teacher Appreciation Day. If you have new ideas, please speak to any of your PTF officers so we can discuss the best way to incorporate your feedback.

How can you be involved?

How can you make this the best year for your family and for KCS? Join us in the PTF! Every parent has the opportunity to make a huge impact just by participating, whether it be in planning, fundraising or volunteering.

This is your chance to be a member of a great organization that funds many of the opportunities you see around our school. Your support will enhance your child’s experience in school and we want to hear from you! When you join the PTF you are not obligated to attend all meetings nor volunteer any minimum number of hours; everyone participates in the unique way that they are able.

The best way to get connected and be “in the know” is to join and participate in the PTF. You’ll quickly meet and build rapport with other parents and teachers while sharing ideas, concerns and experiences. By volunteering you put your skills, hobbies, and interests to valuable use! This will be a year of amazing growth in the KCS PTF and we want you to be part of it. Ultimately it’s our goal that you see PTF as a means to being an active part of your child’s school community.

PTF Committees

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee's job is not simply to raise money. This Committee is responsible for overseeing the financial health of our organization and to ensure that we are meeting our goals so that we can continue to provide abundant programs and enhancements to our school. This isn’t just for “numbers people!” An entrepreneurial spirit and creativity are wonderful qualities of many members of this committee.

Helping Hands Committee

The Helping Hands Committee’s job is to help organize and coordinate schoolwide charity/service events, as well as provide support to our KCS Families. This committee will coordinate certain types of events (e.g. Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, Operation Christmas Child, Autism Awareness Month, KPC Angel Tree, etc.). This committee will also take the lead in offering extra support to our families during times of need (e.g. a new baby, loss in family, deployed spouse, illness, etc.).

Hospitality Committee

The Hospitality Committee’s job is to help organize and coordinate teacher and staff appreciation, as well as parent and volunteer appreciation. This committee will take the lead for certain types of events (e.g. Teacher Appreciation Week, Staff Appreciation Day, Parents Appreciation Week). This committee focuses largely on ensuring that the Love of Christ is expressed in gestures of goodwill amongst our School Family and those in our community who contribute to our success

Special Events Committee

The Special Events Committee organizes events for our students and families throughout the school year.. This year the committee is planning Generation Day, Gingerbread Shoppe, The Gala, Father / Daughter Dance, and our Carnival. The Special Events Committee will provide the leadership for the entire event planning process. The committee assists with the production, day-of support, and provides feedback and suggestions for our school events. If you are creative, organized, and love to throw parties this committee is for you!

Room Parents

The role of our room parents can be summed up in three words: Connect, Serve and Support. They are the glue between the parents in their classroom and the PTF as well as the glue to the teacher(s). They assist with planning and arranging classroom parties, coordinating volunteers for classroom events, reminding parents of upcoming events/activities, and coordinating Teacher Appreciation activities for the classroom.
